Otay Receives National Budget Award
Otay Budget Honored for 11th Consecutive Year
Otay Water District has received the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada’s (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its 2015 budget.
Each year the District makes a concerted effort to continually improve the quality of its financial reporting documents to make them easier to read and understand. This honor marks the 11th consecutive year that Otay has received the GFOA recognition, which is the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting and reflects Otay’s commitment to exceeding the highest principles of financial reporting.
The Distinguished Budget Presentation Award is presented annually to a select number of special districts in California. The award is reserved for agencies that exceed nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation and recipients are recognized as leaders in improving the quality of budgeting in the public sector.
GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving more than 18,000 government finance professionals throughout the United States and Canada. The Distinguished Budget Presentation Award program is the only national award in governmental budgeting.
