New Rebates Available for Unincorporated Areas
Unincorporated-area customers of the Otay Water District – both residential and commercial – can now take advantage of the County of San Diego’s newly expanded Waterscape Rebate Program (WRP), offering the highest incentives yet for turf replacement and landscape upgrades.
Here’s what’s new:
- Stacked Turf Replacement Assistance – Get personalized help with your turf replacement project through SoCal WaterSmart, plus access to bonus rebates for native plants and rain-saving features.
- Native Plant Bonus – Earn an extra $1 per square foot on top of existing rebates when you incorporate native plants that add beauty and biodiversity to your landscape.
- Rain-Saving Rebates – New rebates, up to $3,000, for rain barrels, cisterns, and rain gardens, and up to $500 for gutters that help you capture and reuse rainwater.
- Turf Replacement – Now offering $5 per square foot for removing grass near pavement that is ineligible for SoCal WaterSmart turf replacement.
Other existing rebates, including the Landscape Optimization Service (LOS), are also available. Through the LOS, large commercial and multifamily landscapes can receive personalized technical assistance and exclusive incentives to complete turf replacement projects.
